Dos, Linux print to USB, GDI, PDF Win printer @SwIt Printfil 5.9 Print from DOS-Windows-Unix-Linux to Windows printers: USB, GDI, PDF, e-mail, network, fax, virtual. Capture PRN: and from LPT1: to LPT9:, then redirect the jobs, even to a printer phisically connected to the captured port. It also allows preview printing, include logos and background forms, send the jobs via fax/e-mail, use specialist fonts (barcodes etc.), colorize the text, export in PDF, archive copies, same job to multiple printers and more.

Fine product. Excellent service.

I tried DOSPRN, DOS2USB, Printfil. Printfil is the only one gave me an error lpt1 assignment. So I deleted the net use mapping. After that it worked fine on Windows XP. It did not work for me on the Vista. However, now that I am a little bit more familiar with the settings. I should try all 3 and see. Printfil is a bit pricey compare to the other two. But if it is the only one that works then may be it should be.

Excelent I'm in search of a solution for redirecting LPT to Virtual Printer USB port. Printfil is definitely my favourite so far.

Connection to ODBC data sources for any app. Odbc 4 All 2.2 Allows any application, including DOS apps and batch files, to easily run SQL queries using any ODBC data source, (Access, MySql, Oracle, Informix, ...) redirecting the output to the screen, an ascii file / table or a DBF table. Can be used in standalone mode and/or inside a 3rd party application, with or without user intervention.

Print to windows printer from a dos program DOSPRN 1.79 DOSPRN is a special program for support printing from DOS applications on any kinds of printers include winprinters, USB-printers, network printers, print servers etc. Also DOSPRN supports Epson and HP PCL Esc-sequences emulation, multiple international codepages, landscape/portrait printing, text color manipulation, absolute positioning and many other features.

Opinion We tried using it but could not get it to work for us. We are using a Canon USB printer with a Dos program, but it would not see the program.

I downloaded DOSPRN 1.79 to try to overcome a problem with using a USB receipt printer with software that was designed to print directly to a serial printer. I am still testing some of the esc codes sent to the printer but it seems to handle them all correctly. This is a very good peice of software and it may well save me from rewriting all the printing sections of our POS software.Wayne Abell

I could not make it work with my HP P1505. I managed to make Printfil do the job, så I expect to stick with that.Regards, Arne

Seems that your DOSPRN is pretty pricey so I decided to use DOS2USB instead....

Doesn`t work for gwbasic program for me I was trying to use the program to print from a gwbasic program that I have been using for about 25 or 30 years on my new computer with a vista operating system. The program worked fine printing to my dot matrix printer using my old Windows XP computer but my new computer does not have a parallel outlet and using a usb/parallel cable does not work and I was hoping that it would either print to the dot matrix or one of my network printers. Unfortunately, no such luck.

QPRO Problems The program wroks perfectly in dos mode using gwbasic but in qpro, it defaults constatntly to a spooling utility and will not divert the lpt1 print instruction. If there is a solution, please let me know.
